Pick Your Potion: A Spooky Glam Halloween Dinner

Amirah wanted to throw an intimate (because, COVID) birthday party, but still wanted it to be very nice. Since venue options were so limited, she instead decided to transform the whole first floor of her house.

Bringing the theme to life

She pulled inspo from the Kardashians and Pinterest. She wanted every room to resemble a Halloween exhibit, with installations such as skeletons posed doing different activities.

Although Halloween was the theme, she wanted to infuse a sense of elegance, hence all the floral arrangements.

Both the drink and food menu incorporated Halloween elements. She wanted to stay on brand with everything -- the devil is in the details.

Amirah did tastings with chefs to ensure the food would be amazing, and served a 5 course meal with pallet cleansers in between each dish.

She found a 360 PhotoBooth last minute and it was the perfect touch! Really gave a celebrity feel to a small intimate gathering.

The Finishing Touches

"I wanted to use a lot of Black women vendors," Amirah stated. Two of which she highlighted are Chanel Monet Candle Co. on her travel sized candles ("They are seriously so bomb") and K Squared Flowers, who makes fresh floral products such as sage bundles and eucalyptus shower bouquets.
